Prepare your fleet for winter: TIP Group's essential maintenance checklist

As winter approaches, the harsh weather conditions can take a toll on your vehicles, making them more susceptible to breakdowns and other issues. To keep your transport fleet in top shape during the winter season, we encourage you to follow this winter check list – and adjust it depending on your vehicles features.

Check Your Tyres and Lights:

Ensure that your tyres are in good condition and well pressured, and that your vehicle lights are working properly. Look for any signs of tyre wear and tear and replace any tyres that are damaged or have tread below the legal limit.

Inspect Your Brakes:

Brakes are crucial for safety, especially in winter conditions. Have your brakes checked and serviced to ensure they are in optimal working order.

Lubricate Moving Parts:

Cold weather can cause parts to become stiff and difficult to move. Make sure all moving parts are well-lubricated to prevent any issues.

Protect Against Corrosion:

Salt and other chemicals used to de-ice roads can cause corrosion. Protect your trailer by applying anti-corrosion treatments to vulnerable areas.

Prepare for Emergencies:

Equip your vehicles with winter emergency kits that include items such as blankets, food, water, roadside assistance number, and a first aid kit. Make sure your drivers are trained to use the kit in case of an emergency.
